Bloom

Bloom

BLOOM® Materials give back to the environment by reducing water pollution, making them restorative and renewable.

The creation of BLOOM® Materials results in the removal of over-abundant and harmful algae from our water resulting in cleaner and oxygenated water being restored to the environment.

Repurposing waste algae into useful materials prevents it from decomposing and releasing CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, reducing carbon emissions and resulting in cleaner air.

  • Made with over-abundant algae harvested from lakes and rivers
  • Each pair returns around 70L of filtered water to the ecosystem
  • And puts roughly 73m³ of clean air back into the environment
  • Stops algae decomposing into CO₂ and greenhouse gases
  • A renewable, restorative alternative to fossil-fuel foams

How Does Bloom Work?

Bloom is a renewable, restorative foam made with over-abundant algae harvested from lakes and rivers. Harvesting partners collect the excess algae — a resource that can double in size in around 24 hours — separate it from the water, and return clean, filtered water to the ecosystem. Removing the algae before it decomposes also stops it releasing CO₂ and other greenhouse gases.

Every pair of Bloom footwear returns around 70 litres of filtered water and 73 cubic metres of clean air to the environment — a material that restores rather than simply reduces impact.
